A61dr41n (AKA Acid Rain) began as a playful attempt to understand the intricacies of a special type of mathematical algorithm called a fractal.  The artist started from humble means, with nothing but a background in physics and mathematics and a computer.  As the research advanced, imagery became the only tool to study the resulting formulae.  As the details of these beautiful and intricate systems emerged, the resolution was increased to fully appreciate the object to its fullest.  Eventually, the images were printed and A61dr41n the artist was born.

Every A61dr41n piece starts out as an algorithm.  An algorithm is simply a process. This algorithm is rendered with custom software into a high-quality image.  The word ‘algorithm’ implies some sort of mathematical or computational process.  These can be very simple, or extraordinarily complex and become one of the most beautiful pieces of art. What you see are some of the most fundamental processes in nature.  They are found in virtually every area of study including art, biology, genetics, botany, chemistry, physics, and more.  In fact, they may underlie the heart of physical reality.
